Stage 1: Review Introduction Stages
Complete the objectives from the Introduction Stages. If you have trouble completing them, please review the video tutorials for assistance.

Stage 2: Organizing Multiple Folders
OBJECTIVES:
1. Locate "(Your Last Name)" folder in "My Drive". (Go to Introduction Stages if you did not create it yet.) 2. Create a sub-folder in your "(Your Last Name)" folder and name it: "(Your Subject Area)". 3. Make sure that your "(Your Subject Area)" folder is in "(Your Last Name)" folder. If it isn't, move it there. |
Stage 3: Creating and Managing Shared Folders
OBJECTIVES:
1. Locate the "(Your Subject Area)" folder you created in Stage 2. 2. Share the "(Your Subject Area)" folder with a partner and make sure the sharing options give them access to edit the folder. 3. When your partner has shared their "(Your Subject Area)" folder with you, locate it and move it into "My Drive". 4. Move your "(Your Last Name) Google Training" document into your partner's shared folder. 5. Check the shared folder you sent to your partner to see if their document pops up when they have completed objective 4. 6. In your "Shared with me" tab, locate the "RMS Staff Info" shared folder and add it to "My Drive". (This is all of the information from our G-Drive.) |
Stage 4: Linking a Google Folder to School WorldOBJECTIVES:
1. Change the "share" options on your "(Your Subject Area)" folder to Public. Do not allow editing. (Don't check that box!) 2. Copy the "link to share" URL 3. Go to your School World website and create a new sub page. 4. Make the sub page a "Go to" page by selecting the appropriate icon and paste the URL from your Google Folder. 5. Hit the "save" button and check your folder on your website. |
Stage 5: Uploading Files from Computer
OBJECTIVES:
1. Download a picture from Google onto your desktop. 2. Upload the picture file to "My Drive". 3. Move the picture file to "(Your Last Name)" folder. 4. Try uploading a folder from your computer by clicking the upload button and selecting the "Folder" option. (This saves time if you want to upload multiple items.) |
Stage 6: Maintaining "My Drive"
OBJECTIVES:
1. Delete the shared folder that your partner sent you in Stage 3. |
Stage 7: Creating Groups for Sharing
OBJECTIVES:
1. Send an email (from your Gmail - not Outlook) to individuals that you would like to make a group for. (7th grade team - Math Team, etc.) 2. From your "Sent Mail" folder, reopen the email you sent and copy the email addresses from that message. (You may have to hit the "Show" carrot button by the email addresses to view all of the addresses.) 3. In Google Contacts, create a group and give it a name. 4. In the add email address field, paste the list of email addresses you copied in Objective 2. 5. Share the picture document you uploaded in Stage 5 with your group. |
Stage 8: Making a Copy of a Document
OBJECTIVES:
1. Locate your "(Your Last Name) Google Training" document and make a copy of it. 2. Rename the document: "(Your Last Name) Feedback". 3. Open the newly copied document and type in any questions you may still have about Google Drive. 4. Share your "Feedback" document with Matt Houselog, Annie Allen, and Keith Saxton. |
Introduction Level focuses on general information on how to log into your Google Drive and give you a tour of the basic setup of the Drive (or main) page. You will also learn how to create documents and share them with others.

Intermediate Level is a Google Drive refresher course that focuses on managing your Google Drive. You will learn how to add folders, share folders, create groups, upload and delete files from "My Drive".

Advanced Level explores Google applications that can be useful in your classroom. Prior knowledge of basic Google functionality is suggested before use.

YouTube Introduction will show you how to set up your YouTube accounts so that you can share videos with students and teachers.
